Born on 19th December 1948 r. in Pasłęk.
In 1987, graduated in history from the Faculty of Humanities at Gdańsk University.
In 1975 started his professional career as teacher at the Elementary School No. 3 in Pasłęk. In 1977-1978, worked at the Continuous Education Centre in Elbląg. Between 1980 and 1990, co-owned a general-construction company. Subsequently, worked as a history teacher at the Agricultural Schools Complex in Pasłęk (1990-1992) and at "Juliusz Słowacki" General-Education Secondary School No. 1 in Elbląg (1994-2005). In 1993, was the editor-in-chief of Elbląskie Centrum periodical and then Jednak Centrum monthly magazine (1996-1997).
1970-1973 - political opposition activist, interrogated by the security service. 1989 - was elected deputy chairman of the Solidarity Civic Committee in Pasłęk. At that time, was also the editor of Gazeta Pasłęcka.
1998-2002 - deputy to Warmińsko-Mazurskie Provincial Parliament (1998-1999 - its deputy speaker). 2002-2005 - member of Elbląg District Council.
Member of the Polish Historical Society (1994-1999 - chairman of its Elbląg section). From 1990, has been organizing charitable campaigns on behalf of sick children.
In the Sixth Term Senate was deputy chairman of the Local Government and State Administration Committee, member of the Emigration Affairs and Contacts with Poles Abroad Committee.
Since 1990, was involved with the Centre Alliance Party, successively as chairman of the Centre Alliance Circle in Pasłęk, deputy chairman of the Centre Alliance provincial board in Elbląg (1992-1997) and member of the Centre Alliance Main Political Council. Member of the Law and Justice political party; member of its political council.
Married, has one child.
