Born on 22nd September 1943 in Kamień Koszyrski.

In 1967 graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy in Łódź and, in 1977, obtained Level II Specialization in general surgery from that faculty. Doctor of Medical Sciences since 1974. Also graduated from the Economics Faculty of the University of Warsaw (1993).

Began his professional career in 1967 at the Military Medical Academy in Łódź. Subsequently, between 1967 and 1969, was a doctor in a military unit belonging to the Silesian Military District in Wrocław. Between 1972 and 1984 worked in the Second Surgical Clinic of the Military Medical Academy in Łódź. In 1985 was appointed department head in the Military Clinical Hospital in Bydgoszcz and served there as the hospital deputy commandant and then commandant (1988-1995). In 1995-1996 was chief of the health service of the Pomeranian Military District in Bydgoszcz. Since 1996, director of Bydgoszcz Oncologic Centre.

Member of the Society of Polish Surgeons, Polish Oncologic Union, Polish Oncologic Society and Polish Association of Hospital Directors. Member of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Capital Club - an organization grouping business people engaged in regional development and promotion.
