Born on 10th July 1942 in Tarnowskie Góry.

In 1968, graduated in Polish philology from the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the Teacher Training College in Opole.

In the 1960s, worked as school teacher in Tarnowskie Góry District. Since 1971, works as journalist at Radio Katowice.

In her work as a journalist has always endeavoured on behalf of a worthy and proper place of the Silesian culture and dialect in the national cultural heritage. The work ethos and moral values characteristic to Silesians, and especially their language, were at the foundation of the annual "Let's Speak Silesian!" competition which she initiated 17 years ago.

Twice, in 1998 and 2004, the competition was held in Texas for local descendants of Silesian settlers. Competition winners - and there are almost 100 of them today - form a group which promotes the Silesian folklore and dialect.

Created a series of shows taking place in Silesia aired between 1993 and 1999 by TV Katowice. Published a Silesian song book and a book about the Silesian dialect. Member of the jury of numerous folk competitions in the Silesian and Opolskie Provinces. Received many awards for her work in journalism and for promotion of Silesia and its inhabitants.

2002-2005 - deputy to Silesian Provincial Parliament.

Member of ZAiKS Authors' Association.

In the Sixth Term Senate was member of the Culture and Media Committee and the Family and Social Policy Committee.

No political party affiliation.

Married, has a daughter.
