Born on 21st June 1950 in Pabianice.
In 1974, graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and History at Łódź University.
1974-1981 - worked as history teacher at the Secondary School of Economics in Łask. 1982-1985 - school teacher in the School Complex No. 1 in Łask, between 1985 and 1990 - in the elementary school in Sędziejowice. 1998-2004 - director of the General Education Secondary School Complex No. 1 in Sędziejowice.
In 1980, became chief of the Solidarity Trade Union local in Łask. On 13th December 1981, upon imposition of martial law measures, was arrested and jailed - first at the penitentiary in Sieradz, then in Łowicz. Stayed in jail until June 1982. 1989-1990 - chairman of the Solidarity Civic Committee in Łask.
1990-2005 -member of Łask Town Council; 1990-1998 - mayor of the Łask town and commune. 1990-1994 - deputy president of Sieradz Provincial Parliament; 1990-1998 - deputy to Sieradz Provincial Parliament (two terms).
Head of the volunteer fire department in Łask.
In the Sixth Term Senate was member of the Local Government and State Administration Committee and the National Economy Committee.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland.
Married, has five children.
