Born on 3rd February 1955 in Bielsko-Biała. In 1984 graduated from the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice. Surgeon, specializes in cancer surgery. In 2000 completed post-graduate studies at Jagellonian University Public Health Institute. Worked as junior assistant at the Industrial Healthcare Complex in Katowice (1984-1986) and assistant at the Industrial Healthcare Complex in Fabryka Samochodów Małolitrażowych (small passenger car manufacturer) in Bielsko-Biała (1986-1989). W 1989 began work as senior assistant at the Provincial Healthcare Complex (presently "John Paul II" Beskidzkie Oncology Centre) in Bielsko-Biała. W 1998 became its director. Member of the Polish Society of Cancer Surgery, Polish Oncology Union and Polish Medical Association. Deputy chairman of the Bielsko-Biała section of the Polish Committee against Cancer and chairman of the "Evangelium Vitae" Society. Member of the Trade Union of Doctors at the Beskidzkie Oncology Centre. In the Fifth Term Sejm was member of the Health Committee and the Family and Women's Rights Committee. Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland. Married, has three children. |
