Born on 14th April 1961 in Katowice.

In 1984 graduated in history with specialization in education from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Silesian University. Subsequently completed post-graduate studies in school and educational facility management at "Adam Mickiewicz" University and University of Economics in Poznań (1995), in public & local self-government administration and advanced management systems at Higher School of Administration and Management in Bielsko-Biała (2000), in pedagogical supervision with elements of evaluation at Baltic Higher School of the Humanities in Koszalin, in territorial self-government and local development at Warsaw University (2000), and in management of educational facilities in unified Europe at "Millennium" Higher School of the Humanities and Management in Gniezno (2004).

After studies, worked as research associate at the Academy of Economics in Katowice. In 1991-1992 was a teacher at Elementary School No. 12 in Pszczyna Studzionka, and from 1992 to 1995 was the principal of Elementary School No. 3 in Pszczyna. From 1995 to 1999 headed the Department of Education and Health at Pszczyna Municipal Administration and, between 1999 and 2001, was director of Pszczyna Board of Education.

From 1998 to 2002 - member of Pszczyna Regional Council.

Between 2001 and 2006 - deputy mayor of Pszczyna; from 2006 to 2007 - deputy marshal of Silesian Province.

Deputy president of Pszczyna Region Friends' Society and member of the Vysehrad Institute.

Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and member of its national and regional councils.

Married, has two children.
