Born on 2nd November 1937 in Warsaw.
In 1958 graduated from the Production and Directing Faculty of the National Film School in Łódź with the title of film production manager and director.
Assisted in the production of several films directed by Andrzej Munk. Between 1958 and 1996 worked at TVP Polish Public Television Network as assistant director, director, Television Production Department head, TVP deputy chairman, TVP Team leader and adviser to the TVP board of directors. Since 1997 is general and artistic director of Teatr Syrena (theatre) in Warsaw.
Directed and produced more than 200 theatre plays for TVP. Collaborated with most distinguished actors, stage designers and composers. Initiated the idea of establishing TV Polonia (a channel addressed to Poles living abroad) and broadcasting it via satellite. Recipient of numerous awards, distinctions and prizes.
Chairman of the Association of Theatre Directors in Poland. Collaborates with Polish Humanitarian Action and the "Assistance on Time" Foundation for Children.
Has no political party affiliation.
Unmarried, has one child.
