W 1974 graduated from the Trade and Services Economics Department of the Krakow University of Economics. In 1992 obtained a doctoral degree in tourism from Krakow Academy of Physical Education.

From 1976 to1985 - teaching assistant at Krakow Academy of Physical Education. From 1986 to 1989 - deputy head of the Physical Education, Sports and Tourism Department of Krakow Municipal Office. Between 1989 and 2007 - economic and finance director of Chemobudowa Kraków Company S.A. Was member of the supervisory board of the Municipal Water and Sewer Authority in Krakow. Lectures at the School of Banking and Management in Krakow.

Between 1994 and 2002 was member of Krakow City Council. Between 2006 and 2007 deputy to Małopolskie Provincial Parliament.

Member of the board of Wisła Krakow Sport Society.

Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland.

Married, has two children.
