Born on 19th September 1960 in Jaworzno.
Graduated in political science from the Social Science Faculty at Silesian University.
1990-1995 - manager of the Silesian branch of RUCH S.A. (nationwide press distributor); 1996-2002 - sales director of Dziennik Zachodni newspaper. Before becoming a senator, served as deputy director of the Municipal Centre of Culture and Sports in Jaworzno. Between 2002 and 2003, also served as Jaworzno mayor's deputy in charge of ownership supervision.
For many years, was involved in local self-government in the Silesian region. 1994-1998 - member of Jaworzno Town Council; 1998-2005 - deputy to Silesian Provincial Parliament.
Also represented the Union of Provinces of the Republic of Poland to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe in Strasbourg.
In 2001, founded and served as first president of the association Jaworzno Moje Miasto ("My Town Jaworzno"). Member of social councils of "St. Barbara" Provincial Specialized Hospital, "Zahorski" Hospital and Regional Medical Rescue Unit in Sosnowiec.
Member of the Law and Justice political party - member of its Political Council, chairman of its Sosnowiec District Board and spokesman of its Silesian Regional Board (2002-2006).
Married, has two children.
