Born on 25th February 1937 in Sadurki (Lublin Province).

In 1971, graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at the Higher School of Agriculture in Lublin.

Actively involved in trade union work since 1980. 1989-1991 - deputy chairman (since 1992 - chairman) of the Solidarity Trade Union of Individual Farmers.

1991-1993 - became involved in the establishment of small agricultural refineries in rural areas (producing fuel out of rape-seed). Initiated the establishment of such pilot refinery in Mochełek.

Was actively engaged in organizing wholesale markets for agrofood products. After the establishment of such wholesale market in Lublin, became member and then deputy chairman of its supervisory board.

1998-2002 - Deputy to Lublin Provincial Parliament.

2000-2003 - deputy chairman of the Confederation of European Agriculture. Since 1993 - chairman of the board of the trade union Foundation Kasa Nadzei.

In the First Term Sejm was deputy chairman of the National Defence Committee and member of the Liaison with Poles Abroad Committee and Ownership Transformation Committee.

Chairman of Porozumienie Ludowo-Patriotyczne (People's Patriotic Alliance).

Married, has two children.
