Born on 21st May 1957 in Pleszewo (Wielkopolskie Province).
In 1981, graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at "Adam Mickiewicz" University in Poznań. In 1985, obtained the degree of Doctor of Physical Sciences and, in 1994, the degree of doctor habilitated. Spent the year 1989 on a scientific scholarship at Montana State University in Bozeman, U.S.A. Author of more than 100 scientific publications.
Since 1981 - scientist at the Molecular Physics Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań. Before becoming senator, headed the Low Temperature Physics Institute in Odolanów.
1990-1994 - Chairman of the Odolanów District and Town Council.
In 1994, became involved in the establishment of the Catholic Action in Poland. Since 1998 - Chairman of the Diocese Board of the Catholic Action Institute in Kalisz. In 2002, was elected Secretary of the National Board of the Catholic Action Institute in Poland.
No political party affiliation.
Married, has six children.
