Born on 10th July 1942 in Tarnowskie Góry.
In 1968, graduated in Polish philology from the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the Teacher Training College in Opole.
In the 1960s, worked as school teacher in Tarnowskie Góry District.
Since 1971, works as journalist at Radio Katowice. Has been a steadfast promoter of the rightful place of Silesian culture and dialect in national cultural heritage, and of the devotion to work and high moral values characteristic to Silesians.
Initiated a competition promoting the Silesian dialect. Out of 15 editions of the competition, two took place in Texas (in 1998 and 2004) and featured local descendants of Silesian émigré families. Published a book marking the 10th anniversary of the competition.
Author of a series of Silesia-related shows broadcast on TV Katowice between 1993 and 1999. Wrote lyrics to popular Silesian songs.
2002-2005 - deputy to Silesian Provincial Parliament.
