Born on 23rd September 1953 in Wańkowa (Podkarpackie Province).

In 1983, graduated from the Art Education Faculty at the Cieszyn section of the Silesian University of Technology. In 1987, completed post-graduate studies in Polish philology for elementary school teachers at Teachers' Education Institute in Katowice, and, in 2004, in European integration at Tischner European University in Krakow.

1975-1984 - worked at Prasa-Książka-Ruch Publishing House in Oświęcim. Subsequently, until 1990, taught Polish in elementary schools in the commune of Miedźna.

From the late 1990, was director of the Oświęcim section of RUCH S.A. (a press distributing company). Since 1998, member of the board of directors of RUCH S.A. in Warsaw; 2000-2001 - chairman of that board.

In 2002, founded Edukacyjne Centrum Biznesu ("Business Education Centre") in Bielsko-Biała, which she owned and operated.

Trade union activist since 1980. As chairman of the Solidarity Trade Union at Prasa-Książka-Ruch Publishing House in Oświęcim, participated in the regional congress of Solidarity. In 1989, was elected deputy chairman of Solidarity Civic Committee in Miedźna. 1992-1997 - chairman of Oświęcimska Koalicja Obywatelska (Oświęcim Civic Coalition).

Created Jedna Europa ("Single Europe") Foundation and established Beskidzka Inicjatywa Lokalna ("Beskidy Region Local Initiative") in Bielsko-Biała.

Member of the Civic Platform political party.

Married, has three children.
