Born on 3rd February 1952 in Radom.
In 1999, received the bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Economics at Radom University of Technology. 2001 - graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at "Maria Curie-Skłodowska" University in Lublin.
1969-1972 - worked as mechanic at "General Walter" Metallurgical Works in Radom and, subsequently, in Radom R&D Centre and at Zjednoczenie Odlewnictwa (a foundry). After the imposition of martial law measures in December 1981, was fired from work and opened a private business.
Since 2003, deputy director of the Provincial Road Traffic Centre in Radom.
Was chairman of the Radom section of the Association of Trade and Service Business Owners, and then deputy chairman of the Association of Polish Trade Business Owners. For two terms, served as deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Bank Spółdzielczy Rzemiosła. Member of the social council of Provincial Specialized Hospital in Radom.
Participated in workers' protests in Radom on 25th June 1976; member of the Solidarity Trade Union since 1980. In 1989, was member of the Solidarity Civic Committee and subsequently helped to establish the Radom section of Ruch Obywatelski Akcja Demokratyczna (ROAD) - a centre-right political party. Was member of the Democratic Union (later Freedom Union Party).
Member of the Civic Platform political party and member of its Mazowsze regional board. Was the first chairman of the Radom section of the Civic Platform.
Unmarried, has two children.
