Born on 13th August 1952 in Siemianowice Śląskie to a family with rich patriotic traditions. Grandson of the brother of Wojciech Korfanty - deputy to the Sejm and senator in the Second Polish Republic.

In 1978, completed studies at the Industrial Faculty of Katowice University of Economics as a Master in Economics. In 1983, obtained a second Master's degree, this time from the Faculty of Commodity Trade and Service Economics at Cracow University of Economics. In 1997, completed post-graduate studies at the Management College of Katowice University of Economics.

Chairman of the management board of Koncept-Informatyka company (IT system sales and implementation, computer sales) and deputy chairman of the management board of Koncept-Finanse company (accounting and taxation services).

Co-initiator of the establishment of Wojciech Korfanty Institute. Deputy chairman of the programming council of Ruch Obywatelski "Polski Śląsk" ("Polish Silesia" Civic Movement).

No political party affiliation.

Married, has two children.
