Born on 17th March 1963 in Urmston (United Kingdom) to a Polish émigré family. During WW II, her father was a soldier in the Polish army commanded by General Anders and fought in the Battle of Monte Cassino.

In 1984, graduated in economics from Oxford University. During studies, between 1982 and 1984, was chairman of University of Oxford Polish Society, supported the political opposition in Poland and participated in the Medical Aid for Poland program.

Between 1985 and 1989, was employed by ECS Marine Company in Great Britain as oil market financial analyst. In 1989, became economic adviser to international and Polish chemical and power companies. In 1991, relocated to Poland and became associated with Tarnów Region. In 1998, became involved in regional economic development and unemployment issues. Provides corporate training to Polish companies - among other things, teaches them Japanese management methods. In 1999, participated in a U.S. government programme which promoted the application of new technologies in business. 1999-2000 - chairman of the board of "Plastic Valley" Tarnów Industrial Cluster S.A. Coordinated the EU ACENET programme for that company. In 2003, acted as Tarnów District economic expert in a World Bank programme aimed at finding practical solutions to rural and agricultural problems. In 2004, became expert assessor of the Integrated Regional-Development Operating Programme in Małopolskie Province.

Member of Społeczne Towarzystwo Oświatowe - a non-governmental organization for the improvement of education in Poland, Polish Section of the European Women's Union and Polish Enterprise Institute.

Member of the Tarnów District board of the Civic Platform political party.

Married, has two children.
