Born on 24th August 1953 in Michalinów (Lublin Province).
In 2000, completed studies at the Warsaw University Territorial Self-Government and Local Development Study Centre.
Between 1974 and 1978, worked as a miner at the "Kazimierz-Juliusz" Hard Coal Mine in Sosnowiec, and between 1982 and 1988 - at Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne (Military Automotive Plant) in Zamość. From 1991 to 1997, was an office employee in Zamość Gmina Administration. Between 2001 and 2005, worked at Gospodarstwo Gruntów Marginalnych i Mieszkaniowe Zasobu Własności Rolnej Skarbu Państwa - a State Treasury agricultural land and residential housing management outlet - in Michałów.
In 1980, became involved with the Solidarity Farmers' Union. Was chairman of its Zamość Gmina Board. In 1991, became chairman of the Zamość Province Council of the Solidarity Private Farmers' Union. Secretary of the Union National-Council Presidium since 1992. Between 1995 and 2005, represented the Solidarity Private Farmers' Union in the Council of Agencja Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa (Agriculture Restructuring and Modernization Agency), serving as its chairman from 1998 to 2002. Was a delegate to the First Term Lubelska Izba Rolnicza (Lublin Province Agricultural Chamber).
1990 - elected deputy chairman of the Zamość Gmina Council; 1994 - elected chairman of the Council. 2002 - elected deputy to Lublin Provincial Parliament. Served as a member of the Board of Lublin Provincial Parliament.
In the Fourth Term Senate, was a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and the Local Government and Public Administration Committee.

Married, has two children.
