Born on 30th June 1953 in Katowice.

Graduated from the Polish Philology Faculty at the University of Silesia in 1976 and started work as a journalist at the Katowice branch of Polish Public Radio. Collaborated with the national radio, TV and press for many years. Six-time finalist of the national competition for the best Poland and the World radio program. Won the competition in 1991. Recipient of the "Bolesław Prus" Journalist Award (2000). In 1994, was awarded the Radio Personality title. In 2002, became Creative Director of Radio Katowice SA.

Promotes the proper use of the Polish language and good health habits. In 1987, created the largest media event promoting the Polish language - The National Dictation. The event is organized regularly (so far, a dozen or so national editions and a few editions for Poles living abroad).

Produced almost one thousand hours of health-related radio programs. Co-author of health promotion TV shows and regular newspaper columns. Animator of a gamut of media events and charitable campaigns in Silesia. For example, in 1992, organized a fundraising campaign to save the Children's Hematology Clinic in Zabrze. In 2000, led a breast-cancer prevention campaign in collaboration with all Silesian newspapers. Also, co-designed an unconventional blood donor campaign. Promotes a smoke-free environment. Organized numerous charitable auctions.

Chairperson of the Silesian Scholarship Fund named after Adam Graczyński - a senator deceased in 2004.

In the Fifth Term Senate was a member of the Culture and Media Committee.
