Born on 13th June 1952 in Zielona Góra.

In 1977, graduated in sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences at "Adam Mickiewicz" University in Poznań.

Subsequently worked as a school pedagogue in Gdańsk. Has been serving for 27 years as a family probation officer - is an expert probation officer. From 2002 to 2005, was head probation officer at the District Court in Gdańsk. At the same time, was deputy chairman of the National Council of Probation Officers.

In 1980, established a local Solidarity Trade Union chapter in the District Court in Gdańsk and was its member. Between 1980 and 1981, was member of the Presidium of the National Solidarity Trade Union Coordinating Committee in the Ministry of Justice.

Is a long-term activist in organizations mandated to promote the family. Has been serving for many years as deputy chairman of the Polish Federation of Pro-Life Movements, which groups 136 organizations. Author of numerous articles on social policy. Co-organized international conferences: For the Dignity of Motherhood (1988), For the Dignity of Fatherhood (1999), For the Dignity of the Child (2001).

1994-1996 - member of the Polish Episcopal Commission on the Family.

In 1994, co-organized and then chaired for five years the Council on the Family at the Gdańsk Province Governor and Regional Parliament Chairman.

1997-2001 - deputy to the Third Term Sejm. Was deputy chairman and then chairman of the Committee on the Family. Was also member of the Social Policy Committee and the Special Committee on Codification Amendments. Was member of the Solidarity Social Action Parliamentary Club.

2002-2005 - was deputy to the Pomerania Province Parliament, where he headed the Committee on Health, Social Policy and the Family.

In 2005, chaired Pomorska Rada Pożytku Publicznego, a body appointed to ensure effective cooperation between the Pomerania provincial government and local NGOs.

No political party affiliation.

Married, has three children.
