Born on 6th January 1944 in Płuchów (today in Ukraine).

In 1971, graduated from a mechanical-engineering secondary school and, subsequently, completed the College of Metrology and Quality Assurance Systems. Held his first employment at Fabryka Maszyn Papierniczych in Cieplice (a paper manufacturing equipment plant). Was arrested for political activities in 1982 and dismissed from work in 1985. Between 1986 and 2003, worked at TELEKOM-SIMET (since 2001 - SIMET S.A.) in Jelenia Góra, first as production department manager, then, since 2001, as quality assurance specialist. Since 2003, collects a pre-retirement pension.

1989-1992 - Chairman of the Regional Board of the Solidarity Trade Union in Jelenia Góra. 1994 - Member of the Jelenia Góra City Council and Deputy Mayor of Jelenia Góra. During the First Term Sejm, was member of the Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Committee, and of two special committees: examining legislative proposals within the framework of the Pact on State Enterprises and examining legislative proposals amending the Cooperative Law.

In the Fourth Term Senate, was member of the National Economy Committee, National Defence Committee and Rules and Senatorial Affairs Committee.

Member of the Solidarity Trade Union and the Law and Justice political party.

Married, has two children.
